| To all Holiday Home Owners
I hope you are enjoying 2003 as much as I am. When
I purchased the park people in the holiday industry said I
would hold my head in my hands and say “what have I
got into”, not the case, I am enjoying every minute.
The people, the weather, and the new challenges are
all fantastic. I know that I have made mistakes and will
probably make some more but I promise to do my best to keep
them to a minimum.
As I said when we first met I want to maintain the standards
of the park and improve where possible. This winter I
hope to plant more trees, improve the lighting and modernise
the lounge. Future planning includes more rockeries and
water features, more bin points, new signage at the entrance,
and more money for plants throughout the park.
With regard to the restaurant and bar we aim to improve
the selection, quality and service next year. The licence
trade is a really difficult area, one in which I have no experience,
but I am sure we will get there. I also hope that you
are enjoying having entertainment in the bar.
This year we have won the Pride of Northumbria Caravan Park
of the Year for 2003 and this means that our park has been
entered into the award for Safeway Excellence in England. We
have also been voted regional winner in the Top 100 Parks
by the readers of Practial Caravanner magazine. This
is all down to the people who work on the park, I personally
believe that they are a great team.
Working closely with our supplier we have managed to negotiate
a better deal for electricity and we are very pleased to say
that we have managed to keep your caravan insurances at the
same rate as last year. Park fee rises have been kept
to a minimum and I feel that this is still good value compared
with other parks.
We will, of course, continue to have a superb range of demonstration
models from leading manufacturers for the coming year.
The past six months have been very exciting and I look forward
to the coming year and meeting more of you.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Billy Maguire
